The Burmese authorities say they've arrested two traffickers trying to smuggle women into China.
A state newspaper said the traffickers were detained as they boarded a train in the former capital, Rangoon. Correspondents say it's a rare official acknowledgement of the traffic in women in Burma.
The United States says the Burmese government is complicit in the trade, which sends women to neighbouring countries for sexual exploitation, domestic service, and forced labour.
